Sofia Khunteyev Ph.D.

Co-founder, Art instructor

Dr. Khunteyev has been teaching art in universities of Europe and schools of USA for over thirty years. She received her Master of Fine Art from Tashkent State Institute of Theater and Art (Uzbekistan) and her Ph. D. from Tbilisi State University (Georgia). She is a member of the Union of Designers (Russia), and Society of Children Book Writers and Illustrators (USA).

Dr. Khunteyev received numerous awards and recognitions for been one of the top fine arts educators and professional artists. Her teaching experience includes classic style art, book illustrations, portraiture, fashion and graphic design.

Igor Khunteyev MFA

Co-founder, Art instructor

Igor Khunteyev has over twenty years experience in teaching traditional, classic style art. He received his Master of Fine Art from Tashkent State Institute of Theater and Art (Uzbekistan). After moving to USA, he received the degree of AAA in Multimedia Production and worked as an art director of interactive designs for corporations such as Ernst & Young, and advertising agencies like Tracy Locke.

Mr. Khunteyev is a member of the Association of Graphic Designers, USA. His teaching experience includes classic style art, book illustrations, portraiture, and interactive graphic design.

Charna Khunteyev BAA

Chief Operating Officer

Following completion of her Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from Texas Tech University, Charna worked for corporations like Fossil and BMW before she returned to Sofia Art Academy, where she is instrumental in marketing, communications and overall company's development. Her talent, experience, organizational and communicational skills making tremendous success of the academy.

Charna came on board in 2008. Since then we have grown from a small studio, into two retail branches (Dallas, TX and Miami, FL).

Radda Volshaninova (Kalinka)

Art instructor

Kalinka has been teaching at Sofia Art Academy for about two years now. She has successfully completed four levels of the academy's program and continues enhancing her skills in Master 1 level.

Kalinka's natural artistic abilities, her creative vision, talent and loveable attitude towards the students make her a very special part of our team.

Iryna Cumberland

Art instructor

Iryna is also the alumni of Sofia Art Academy. She came to us as a well self-trained painter in realistic style art. However, Iryna felt that she needed to build a stronger foundation in classical drawing and painting, and she successfully accomplished that with the academy's program.

Iryna now has strong fundamental skills in classical art, which she happily shares with our students. Her talent, knowledge, detailed orientation and careful attention for every individual, make our students become a better artists and progress very well through the levels of our program.
